Regional Academia Opening Commemorative Web Lecture "History Lecture on Kamakura-dono"

A course that introduces the historical sites of famous places in Kanagawa Prefecture, where the Genpei War and the Kamakura Shogunate were born from the end of the Heian period to the beginning of the Kamakura period, which is the background of the NHK Taiga drama currently being aired. By explaining the historical background and the figures of Hojo Yoshitoki and the Gokenins, we aim to learn the history from familiar areas.

Kamakura-dono / Minamoto no Yoritomo

How was the Kamakura Shogunate, the first full-scale samurai government in Japan, established? It traces the rise and fall of the Taira administration, which was the forerunner of the samurai administration, and the process by which Minamoto no Yoritomo became the commander of the samurai as "Kamakura-dono" and established the administration.
